Game Rules

For 2-4 Players

When two players are playing, each player will use 10 discs of the same color. Players will sit opposite each other and shoot from within their quadrant. When three or four are playing, each player will have 5 discs, unless sufficient discs are available to allow for 10. In Team Play, the players sitting opposite each other will constitute a team (shooting the same color) and will oppose the other team.

To start the game, each player/team will choose a disc color. To decide who shoots first, one person will take two discs (one of each color), shake them, leave one disc in each hand, and a player from the other team will choose a hand. That disc color then shoots first. After a round is finished, scores are tallied, and the following round is begun by the player sitting to the left of the previous first shooter.

Object Of The Game

The object of the game is to position shooting discs on the playing surface in such a manner that they remain within the highest scoring circles by the end of the round. A shot is accomplished by flicking the index or middle finger in order to propel the disc across the playing surface. Each player seeks to make a 20 Hole score whenever possible, while also making such scoring opportunities difficult for his opponent. The game is played to whatever score is determined by all players in advance.

Rules Of Play

1. Play proceeds in a clockwise fashion. The player to the left of the previous shooter always shoots next.

2. Neither the board nor the chairs of players may be moved during the game. While leaning during a shot is allowed, one butt cheek must always remain in contact with the chair.

3. All players must keep their fingers, hands, and discs off the board unless it is their turn to shoot.

4. To shoot, place the disc on the board within the quadrant in front of you, making sure it touches the shooting line. It may touch the border line between quadrants, but not cross into the neighboring quadrant.

5. The first player will try to shoot his disc into the 20 Hole. If the shot is successful, remove the disc and drop into the Bank Cup to be counted as 20 points at the end of the round. If the shot misses, the disc must stay within the 15 Ring without touching the outside line to count. If it touches the line or goes out of the 15 Ring, the disc must be removed from the playing surface and placed in the Gutter.

6. From there the next player can either shoot for 20 points if the board is empty, or must hit another player’s disc before attempting the 20 Hole. If the shooter fails to make contact with an opponent’s disc, his shot is bad and goes in the Gutter.

Other Rules Of Play

1. If a player’s shot makes contact with one or more of his own discs before hitting an opponent’s, the shot and all discs that were touched are bad and must go in the Gutter.

2. If shooting with only your own discs on the board, your shot does not need to land within the 15 Ring to count.

3. Bouncing off a post or other legal combination shots are allowed.

4. A shot that goes off the playing surface and bounces back onto the board is considered out of play and placed in the Gutter. Any discs disturbed on the board will remain where they are.

5. If a disc in play is touching the outside "shooting" line, it is considered out and moved to the Gutter.

Scoring

At the end of every round, each player or team will take count of their discs on the board. Inner circle discs are scored as 15 points each, Middle circle discs are 10 points, and those in the outer circle count for 5. Don’t forget to check the Bank Cup for any 20 point shots.

If a disc touches a line it will be scored as the lower score. For example, if a disc is mostly in the 15 Ring but is touching the outside line, it is scored as 10 points.

The difference of the count is the score for that round. (Example: If the player with the blue discs has 50 points and the player with the red discs has 30 points, the player with the blue discs would win and be awarded 20 points for that round.)
